Two men and two women have been arrested in connection with a shooting death in Bloomington, but authorities said Sunday they are not ready to say who fired the fatal shot.

In custody as suspects in Thursday's shooting death of a man inside an apartment are a 20-year-old man and 19-year-old woman from Lakeville, a 20-year-old woman from Prior Lake and a 33-year-old man from Minneapolis, police said Saturday.

Bloomington Deputy Police Chief Denis Otterness said his department is "not at this point" prepared to declare who pulled the trigger.

Officers were called to the Hampshire Hill Apartments off Hampshire Avenue and Old Shakopee Road about 10:45 p.m. Thursday. They found the man dead inside one of the apartments from a gunshot, Otterness said.

Otterness said police don't believe the shooting was a random act.

The name of the man who was shot has not been released.

Any or all of the four could be charged as soon as Monday. The Star Tribune generally does not identify suspects before they are charged.
