Along with egg-filled sandwiches and burritos, highlights include sourdough toast covered with avocado and bacon, a black beans-chorizo-pico de gallo combo topped with an egg, banana-topped quinoa porridge and even plain-old two eggs, any style, with bacon and toast. Cold-pressed juices and smoothies, too. Open 7 a.m. daily.

Sonora Grill

Every morning, chef/co-owner Alejandro Castillon prepares a bevy of colorful $10-and-under plates, including huevos rancheros with turkey chorizo, chilaquiles peppered with red sauce-simmered chicken (or pork with hot Guajillo chiles), omelet-fritatta hybrids, and two hangover cures: fully loaded hash browns, and French fries sprinkled with salty Chihuahua cheese and topped with a pair of eggs. The options expand on weekends to include biscuits and egg-filled panini and burritos. Open 10 a.m. weekdays, 9 a.m. weekends.

Sure, along with "local" and "organic," the magic word is "bagels," and they're exceptional. But breakfast at this sunny counter service spot also means shakshuka (tomatoes baked in a red pepper sauce, with house-baked flatbread), cheese blintzes with raspberry preserves, challah eggs Benedict with lamb bacon, winter squash-smoked turkey hash and a hearty house-made granola with yogurt and fruit. Top price? $12, and the kitchen is friendly to vegan and gluten-free diets. Open 8 a.m. weekdays, 7:30 a.m. weekends.
