3 previous face transplants

Isabelle Dinoire received the world's first partial face transplant in 2005 in France. Dinoire was disfigured when her dog chewed her face after she had passed out from a sleeping pills overdose. A Chinese farmer received a transplant in 2006 after being mauled by a bear. A 29-year-old man severely disfigured by a rare genetic disease received a transplant at a hospital near Paris in 2007. The patient had tumors that gave him monstrous features.
