Authorities have identified three people killed in two crashes on Minnesota roads Friday.
A pedestrian crossing Hwy. 10 at Sherburne Avenue in Becker, in Sherburne County, was struck and killed about 7:30 p.m. Friday by a Honda Accord headed east on the highway, according to the State Patrol.
The pedestrian was identified as Francis Laverne Pittman, 66, of Big Lake. The driver, 23-year-old Anastasia Rae Mattson of Brainerd, suffered noncritical injuries in the collision.
Two people died Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Renville County, the patrol said.
A 2000 Chevrolet Silverado heading southbound on Hwy. 71 near County Road 71 in Winfield Township crossed the centerline and struck a 2010 Toyota Tundra head-on at 10:37 a.m., the patrol said. Three people were in the Tundra.
The Silverado's driver, 50-year-old Joel Patrick Trebesch from Kandiyohi, died in the crash. The Tundra's driver, 50-year-old Mark Andrew Tanhoff of Renville, also died.
One of the passengers in the Tundra, 47-year-old Dianna Lynn Johnson of Renville, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale. She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the State Patrol.
The other passenger, Kent Alan Schearer, 38, of Minneapolis, was taken to Renville County Hospital with noncritical injuries.
