Three people died in two separate crashes Thursday morning on Minnesota roads.

A husband and wife from Madison, Minn., were killed just after 11:15 a.m. when their SUV struck a truck in a Kandiyohi County intersection, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Arthur Dove, 82, was driving east on Hwy. 9 when his SUV broadsided the truck, which was northbound on Hwy. 71. Dove and his wife, Elaine Dove, 77, were killed. The driver of the truck, a 63-year-old man from Hector, Minn., whose name has not been released, is hospitalized in St. Cloud in critical condition.

A 48-year-old Fridley man was killed just before 10 a.m. in a three-vehicle crash in Big Lake Township, authorities said.

According to Sherburne County Sheriff Joel Brott, the accident occurred near the intersection of County Road 15 and 211th Avenue.

Ronald Talbot died at the scene, while the drivers of the other two vehicles, Blane Travis, 52, and his wife, Donna Travis, 54, both of Elk River, suffered noncritical injuries. Talbot was driving his SUV north on County Road 15 when an SUV driven by Blane Travis struck him head-on. Talbot's SUV then hit the third vehicle, which was being driven by Donna Travis.
