A 25-year-old northern Minnesota woman was killed Saturday night when she lost control of her car on an icy stretch of Hwy. 169 near the town of Taconite and was broadsided by two vehicles.

Kassandra Keske, of Marble, Minn., died when her car slid out of control and was hit by two vehicles coming from the opposite direction, the State Patrol reported.

Keske was driving south on Hwy. 169 shortly after 7 p.m. when she lost control.

Her car was hit first by a compact SUV driven by Nathan Hoffman, 25, of Ballwin, Mo., and then by a pickup driven by William Westlake, 16, of Bovey, Minn. Both of those vehicles were traveling north on Hwy. 169.

Keske died at the scene. Hoffman was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive his injuries. Westlake was not injured.

All three motorists were wearing seat belts.
