The "coolest celebration on earth" unveiled its much-awaited 2016 Winter Carnival buttons on Saturday during an evening of festivities and outdoor skating in Rice Park in downtown St. Paul.
Sale of the buttons — $5 for one and $19 for the collector's pack of four designs — helps fund the St. Paul Festival and Heritage Foundation, the group that produces the Winter Carnival.
The festival runs Jan. 28-Feb. 7 at various venues in and around St. Paul's Landmark Center, Rice Park and the State Fairgrounds in Falcon Heights.
Buttons can be purchased at metro-area Cub Foods stores, SuperAmerica outlets and various retailers, and on the Winter Carnival website, www.wintercarnival.com.
