2016 duck hunting basics

• Season opens Saturday.

• Shooting begins a half-hour before sunrise.

• Daily limit is six, with species restriction, including four mallards (two of which may be hens), three wood ducks.

• Possession limit is three times daily limit.

• Hunting is open for 60 days in each of three zones: North Zone through Nov. 22; Central Zone through Oct. 2, reopening Oct. 8-Nov. 27; and South Zone through Oct. 2, reopening Oct. 15-Dec. 4.

• Minnesota state waterfowl stamp required for residents age 18 to 64.

• Federal Duck Stamp required for those 16 and older.
