Do you remember Lee DeWyze? Frankly, we had to look up to make sure the 'W' was capitalized.
How soon we forget when it comes to the also rans on "American Idol." Oh, we know he was last year's champ. But he was so forgettable.
Maybe that's why he'll play the Varsity Theater, a perfectly cool music showcase, instead of the thrice-as-big Mystic Lake Casino showroom or some other Twin Cities theater, as all previous "Idol" champs have done.
The DeWyze date is June 22 at the Varsity. He released his debut, "Live It Up," in November but it reportedly has sold only 133,000. By comparison, runnerup Crystal Bowersox's "Farmer's Daughter" has sold 177,000 copies.
