Saab's luxurious and responsive 9-5 received a number of enhancements and upgrades to the standard equipment listing for 2008. Some examples include: OnStar communications safety and security systems, rain-sensing windshield wipers and leather-appointed sport seats.

Available in 2.3T and Aero trim levels, the Saab 9-5 sedan is powered by a 2.3L turbo-charged four-cylinder engine. The engine is connected to a five-speed manual gearbox. A five-speed automatic is optional.

On the road, the 9-5 is a unique adventure that must be experienced to be fully enjoyed. A special bond between driver and machine happens the very moment the key is turned in the ignition. There is a perfect balance of refined comfort and performance. The 9-5 inspires driver confidence.

Inside, the cabin was updated last year with a new instrument panel appearance, new interior door handles, new steering wheel, new door panel trim inserts and a new climate control panel. A premium audio system with MP3 and XM Satellite Radio is standard. Back seat passengers are introduced to a cavernous seating area designed to hold two adults very comfortably, with best-in-class rear armrest and built-in cupholders. Grips located at all four doors ease entry and exit from the vehicle. The 60/40-split, fold-down rear seat can be quickly folded for increased cargo area.

The 9-5 has an impressive list of safety features, including dual front airbags, front seat mounted side-impact airbags, head curtain side-impact airbags, four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock electronic stability system, tire pressure monitoring system, traction control, rain-sensing windshield wipers, daytime running lamps, engine immobilizer, OnStar communications system, front/rear fog lights, central locking system and remote keyless entry. Optional safety features include high intensity discharge headlamps with automatic leveling, rear parking sensors and navigation system.
