CARACAS, Venezuela — Venezuela's chief prosecutor's office says two men have been charged in the shooting of two U.S. Embassy employees inside a Caracas strip club in May.
The office identifies the defendants in a press release posted online Tuesday as Carlos Mejias and Windy Fabiani. It says both were charged with attempted murder in the May 28 shooting of Paul Marwin and Robert Rosas.
U.S. officials said at the time that the embassy employees worked in the military attache's office and neither suffered life-threatening wounds. Neither was identified by name.
The release says several shots were fired at the Americans and indicates Mejias as the alleged shooter. He is also charged with illegal weapons possession.
Police said at the time that the shooting took place following a brawl.
