Two people were found dead at a Maplewood motel Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
Maplewood Police Chief Paul Schnell said officers received a welfare check call about 2 p.m. after someone at the Northernaire Motel off W. Maplewood Drive looked into a room and saw two people "appear to be unresponsive."
Police and fire responders found a man and a woman dead.
Schnell said there were no immediate signs of trauma and it's not clear what may have led to their deaths.
