Two shootings in north Minneapolis occurred a few blocks and less than an hour apart, leaving two people wounded, no arrests made and police trying to determine whether the crimes are connected.

The first shooting occurred about 9:20 p.m. Tuesday in a home in the 3000 block of Dupont Avenue N., said police Sgt. Stephen McCarty. A man was shot in the head and taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, McCarty said.

The second incident occurred outside about 10 p.m., near the intersection of Fremont and Lowry Avenues N., according to the sergeant. A man was shot in the chest and was taken to the same hospital, McCarty said.

Both victims are expected to survive, he said.

While "it's too early to tell" whether the shootings are related, McCarty said that police are "definitely" looking into the possibility.
