Two men robbed a Starbucks before dawn Thursday in St. Louis Park and fled with a bag of cash, authorities said.

The holdup occurred about 5:30 a.m. at the coffee shop on Minnetonka Boulevard, at the junction with Hwy. 7 and W. Lake Street, a heavily traveled convergence of major thoroughfares, police said.

One of the men displayed a black handgun and demanded money, according to police. They left with the loot in a paper bag.

No customers or employees were harmed, police said.

Witnesses described both men as young Somalis. One was about 6 feet tall, thin build, with a British accent. He was wearing a black winter hat and black sweatshirt inscribed with "Everlast" across the front.

His accomplice was shorter, heavyset and wearing a black Carhartt hat and navy-colored sweatshirt.

Police spokeswoman Jacqueline Larson said police are seeking the release of video surveillance from Starbucks' corporate office.

Anyone with information about the holdup can call police at 952-924-2618 or the crime tip line at 952-924-2165.
