A man and woman from the Twin Cities riding a motorcycle in western Wisconsin collided with an SUV and were killed in a fiery wreck, authorities said Tuesday.

The crash occurred shortly after 6 p.m. Monday at a rural intersection southeast of Ellsworth, according to the Pierce County Sheriff's Office.

James D. Marinaro, 58, of New Brighton, and passenger Denise M. Thomas, 52, of Blaine, were killed in the collision, the Sheriff's Office said.

The motorcycle was heading northwest on Hwy. 10 and struck an SUV turning left from the highway onto 450th Avenue. Both vehicles caught fire, the Sheriff's Office added.

Sheriff's Sgt. Andrew Thoms said, "The SUV turned in front of the motorcycle."

The SUV's driver, Brieanna K. Davis, 20, of Ellsworth, survived the crash and was taken by ambulance to a hospital in nearby River Falls.
