2 die from injuries suffered in Minnesota motorcycle crashes

The first crash was July 30 near Brainerd, the second Wednesday in Minneapolis.

Two Minnesota men have died in recent days as the result of injuries suffered in motorcycle crashes, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner.

Kelly Thronson, 61, of Ada, Minn., died Aug. 3, four days after his motorcycle struck a stopped vehicle on Hwy. 210 in Pillager, 15 miles from Brainerd. Thronson was not wearing a helmet, according to the medical examiner's report. He died at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.

Robert Mortensen, 63, of Mendota Heights, suffered fatal injuries in a crash on Wednesday near the intersection of NE. Fillmore Street and Broadway. Mortensen was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he died late Wednesday. The medical examiner did not say if Mortensen was wearing a helmet.
