A man was shot in Brooklyn Park, then taken to a hospital in Fridley where he was declared dead, officials said.
Police in Fridley informed their counterparts in Brooklyn Park about 1:55 a.m. Friday that friends of the 19-year-old man said they came from a home in the 9500 block of N. Thomas Avenue in Brooklyn Park before arriving at Unity Hospital.
The man died from a gunshot wound to the chest, Brooklyn Park police said. His identity has yet to be released.
No arrests have been made as of late Friday morning. Police have not disclosed the circumstances behind the shooting.
