This year’s fair opened on Thursday and runs through Labor Day, Sept. 1. The fair’s all-time biggest day was the second Sunday in 2013, when 236,197 people packed the fairgrounds. Here are attendance numbers, day by day:
Day 1 (Thursday): 94,256 this year, compared with 106,852 for 2013’s first day and 103,738 in 2012.
Day 2 (Friday): 118,606 this year, compared with 121,941 for 2013’s second day and 117,040 in 2012.
Day 3 (Saturday): 178,498 this year, compared with 170,986 for 2013’s third day and 152,646 in 2012. The record third-day attendance was 202,126 in 1998.
