A 14-month-old girl wandered into a small pond behind her family's northern Minnesota home and drowned, authorities said.

Camri Bella Aho was found early Saturday evening by her father in 4 feet of water on the family's property north of Menahga in Wadena County, according to the Sheriff's Office. Camri was pronounced dead at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Max Aho was working outside in front of the house, walked to the back and saw Camri floating in the small rock pond and unresponsive.

Responding law enforcement officers tried to resuscitate Camri at the scene and in the ambulance.

"Sheriff [Michael] Carr advises foul play is not suspected, and all evidence at this time indicates this was a tragic accident," read a statement from the Sheriff's Office.
