The Guillotine wrestling publication release its first team and individual Class 3A rankings on Nov. 11 and several north- and east-metro athletes earned preseason accolades.

Wrestlers ranked in the top three of their respective weight classes were Stillwater eighth-grader Reid Ballantyne (106 pounds), Anoka sophomore Colby Njos (113), Centennial senior and defending state champion Jake Bergeland and Anoka junior Tyler Eischens (both at 138), Centennial senior Tyler Shilson and Anoka senior Calvin Germinaro-Nahring (145), Woodbury senior Austin Braun and East Ridge senior Ty Okada (152), Elk River senior Sam Gibas and St. Francis senior Tony Struntz (160) and Mounds View sophomore Rowan Morgan and Woodbury senior Andrew French (182).

On the team side, juggernaut Apple Valley led the way with No. 2 Anoka (third place at state last year) and No. 6 St. Francis representing the always-tough Class 3A, Section 7. Centennial grabbed No. 10.

In Class 2A, Totino-Grace got the No. 8 ranking and placed seven wrestlers in the top 10 of their respective weight classes.
