12:25 p.m. update: Slippery in Lakeville on 35

It must be a slippery slope on southbound 35 at 210th Street in Lakeville. There is one car in the center median, another one or two in the ditch off to the right side. A semitrailer truck is motionless in the right lane. Motorists are doing the zig zag thing to get around the truck and the vehicles stopped on the right and left shoulders.

Slipper conditions have not abated in the heart of the metro either. We have a long list of spinouts and crashes:

Westbound Hwy. 610 at Hemlock Lane in Brooklyn Park.

Northbound 35W at Burnsville Pkwy. The right lane is blocked.

Northbound Hwy. 169 near the Anderson Lakes Pkwy. bridge; left lane blocked.

Northbound 494 at Carlson Pkwy., the left lane is blocked. There also is a crash at Minnetonka Blvd. blocking the left lane.

Southbound Cedar Avenue at Old Shakopee Road. Left shoulder is blocked there.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
