Authorities posted a $10,000 reward Wednesday for information leading to whoever fatally shot a 21-year-old man three months ago outside the Kato Ballroom in Mankato.

Poth Acouth, of Omaha, was shot about 2 a.m. on April 20 in the ballroom parking lot during an altercation after he attended a Sudanese cultural event. Three other people were shot and wounded.

"Investigators do not believe this is a random event," said a statement accompanying the reward announcement from Mankato police and the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA). Investigators added that they are confident that several people saw the shooting.

"We believe there are people who can help solve this case quickly and help bring closure to the Acouth family," said Detective Cmdr. Deb McDermott.

Anyone with information about the case is urged to call police at 911 or 1-507-387-8774, or use the BCA tip line at 1-877-996-6222 or bca.tips@state.mn.us.
