Side streets and highways are water logged and that is causing all sorts of problems for commuters. MnDOT has closed Hwy.169 between St. Peter and LeSueur due to flooding and also in the Belle Plaine area.

Intersections across south Minneapolis, Richfield and Bloomington are under water, with a up to a foot in some places.

The ramp from northbound 35W to eastbound Crosstown is closed as MnDOT tries to unplug drains. Meanwhile, Cedar Avenue has standing water in both directions near the Mall of America.

Several municipalities are closing roads due to flooding. In Chaska, Bavaria Rd, north of Engler Blvd. and Hundertmark West of Dresden is shut down. Hennepin County says Shady Oak Road from1st Street North and 2nd Street North in Hopkins/Minnetonka due to flooding.

Water is surging along roads near Minnehaha Creek in Edina and south Minneapolis.

Elsewhere many mainline roads are running well below the posted speeds, including 494 and Hwy. 100 in the west metro and the Crosstown from Portland Avenue to Hwy. 100.
