The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of weapons stolen from a Rogers gun shop last week.

Surveillance video showed the smash-and-grab theft that happened around 11:45 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Guns and Gear Store at 21135 S. Diamond Lake Road. A man broke through the store's front window and within a couple minutes stuffed more than $14,000 worth of high-end pistols and silencers into a duffel bag, the video showed.

Rogers Police Chief Jeff Beahen said he believes the suspect acted alone.

Federal agents working the case were at the store Monday looking for clues that might lead them to the suspect. On Tuesday they announced the reward.

"Often times, stolen firearms end up in the hands of violent criminals," said ATF spokeswoman Ashlee Sherrill in a statement. "ATF's priority is to recover the remaining stolen firearms before they can be used in violent crimes."

Tips may be submitted by calling 1-800-283-4867, by visiting www.reportit.com or through the mobile "ReportIt" app. All information may be given anonymously. Tips may also be submitted locally to Rogers Police Department at 763-428-3450, or after hours to Hennepin County Dispatch at 952-258-5321.

To be eligible for the reward, information must lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the burglary or aid in the recovery of the stolen firearms, Sherrill said.

In September, the ATF and the NSSF teamed up to offer a similar reward after more than 80 weapons were stolen from the Millville Gun and Rod store. Several of those firearms were later recovered and eight people were charged in connection with the crime.
