A man was shot and killed Friday evening in north Minneapolis in what police are calling a homicide.

The fatal shooting took place in the 400 block of 29th Avenue N., just north of Farview Park, said Minneapolis police Sgt. Bill Palmer.

A police supervisor on routine patrol in the neighborhood about 5:30 p.m. noticed a disturbance on the street, began to circle back to check on it, then heard gunshots, Palmer said. When he got to the scene, several people were fleeing and an adult male with at least one gunshot wound lay on the ground in front of a house. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Palmer said.

No suspects are in custody. Palmer said anyone with information is asked to call police at 612-692-TIPS.
