An SUV with all of its occupants under the influence of alcohol crashed at 2 a.m. Monday on a northern Minnesota highway, leaving the 18-year-old driver dead and two passengers injured, authorities said.

The crash occurred south of Laporte on westbound Hwy. 200, when the 1997 Chevy Blazer veered off the road to the right and the driver overcorrected, sending the vehicle rolling until it came to a rest in the opposite lane, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The driver, Anthony W. Hare, of Cass Lake, Minn., was killed, according to the patrol.

Injured but expected to survive were passengers Jonathan C. White, 22, of Waubun, Minn., and Darnell J. Cloud, 15, of Cass Lake, Minn.

All three had been drinking, according to the patrol.

Laporte is about 25 miles south of Bemidji.
