A mobile home caught fire late at night in east-central Minnesota, and one person was found dead inside, authorities said Monday.

The fire was reported about midnight Sunday at the home on Hammond Road just south of Howard Road in Finlayson, according to the Pine County Sheriff's Office.

The home, set on a wooded piece of property, was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, the Sheriff's Office added.

Once the fire was extinguished, responders discovered human remains in the charred debris, authorities said.

There is no immediate information on how the fire started. The identity of the person found in the home, believed to be an adult, was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
