July 12, 2013 at 5:13AM

Minneapolis and St. Paul police were investigating two separate shootings late Thursday night.

In St. Paul, a man was shot about 10 p.m. near Payne and E. Lawson Avenues. He was taken to Regions Hospital, where he later died, said St. Paul police spokesman Howie Padilla.

No arrests had been made and no other details about that shooting were available Thursday night.

In Minneapolis, a man and a woman who were walking in the 2800 block of Colfax Avenue N. were shot about 9:45 p.m., said police spokeswoman Cyndi Barrington. Both suffered noncritical injuries.

The man was taken to North Memorial Hospital and the woman was being treated at Hennepin County Medical Center. Barrington said it appears the shooting wasn't random and that the two knew the person who shot them.
