Here's a look at what others were writing about the Wild's signing of Mikael Granlund. (And, yes, we've included a Ricky Rubio comparison, even though Sid Hartman says, "Don't tell me how great he is. I want to see him play.")

In Finland, the English-language edition of Helsingin Sanomat, the largest newspaper in Finland, writes: "Within the NHL, skeptics have complained that Granlund is too small in stature and that his skating is weak," but also notes that Granlund and new Wild teammate Mikko Koivu were put on the same line during Sunday's bronze medal game in the world hockey championships.
Last year, the newspaper offered up a flattering profile of Granlund -- From home Granlund has also inherited his modest personality, with the right kind of humility to it. -- whom it calls the "Air-Scoop Master."

And here's the "air-scoop goal":

The Sporting News writes that Granlund's profile in Minnesota will match what it is already in Finland. At least that's what his agent, Todd Diamond, says: "In some ways and some situations, he can be a little bit like Lennon and McCartney walking in the streets over there."

The website Sports World Report offers up the comparison between Rubio and Granlund here: "Stop if this sounds familiar: a highly-touted playmaker from Europe is finally ready to make the jump to North America, two years after being drafted in the first round."

And finally Upload invites you to scroll down to the comments section of the Granlund story from Canada's Sports Network website (Think ESPN but with lots and lots and lots of hockey). The verdict is mixed, including one commenter who promises: "Too bad the Wild will try to turn him into a defense first guy. Watch for his skill and stats to decline as they destroy his confidence trying to change who he is as a player."
