As early summer storms rolled over a large swath of Minnesota, lightning ignited a house on fire in Duluth.

The strike late Saturday afternoon sent flames flickering through the roof of the house just south of Park Hill Cemetery, according to the city's Fire Department.

Firefighters quickly doused the flames in the house, where no one was home at the time.

Authorities have pegged the initial damage estimate at $20,000.

Heavy rain, hail and high winds roared into Duluth and surrounding areas in the early evening, and an evening storm warning extended northward to Ely and Crane Lake and included a western area of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
