With a burst of new business over the last year, the Minneapolis ad agency Yamamoto on Wednesday announced the addition of two advertising veterans to its leadership team.

Hired as executive creative director was Andy Thieman, who comes to Yamamoto from General Mills. Prior to that, Thieman directed creative efforts for J.C. Penney and Target.

Yamamoto also announced the hiring of Lori Sharbono as director of business development. Sharbono spent the past 15 years leading business development at fast-growing Periscope, which has become one of the largest independent ad agencies in the U.S. Before that, Sharbono did business development at Campbell Mithun and Bozell Worldwide.

"These hires really represent the growth the agency has seen and will help us catapult to the next level," said Yamamoto CEO Kathy McCuskey.

New clients added in the last year include Target, Samsung and Fairview Health Services. Existing clients include Walgreens, Excelsior Brewing Co. and Peachtree Financial.
