A driver with two small boys in her car failed to yield at a rural Wright County intersection and died in a collision with a pickup truck shortly after sunrise Monday, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 7:05 a.m. roughly halfway between South Haven and Annandale at Hwy. 55 and Oliver Avenue, the State Patrol said.

Killed was a 52-year-old woman from Annandale, the patrol said. Her identity has yet to be released.

The boys, brothers Colten Baxley, 4, and Brock Baxley, 1, both of Annandale, were taken to St. Cloud Hospital and treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The pickup driver, Scott W. Thompson, 62, of South Haven, went to the same hospital and was expected to survive his injuries.

The woman's car was heading north on Oliver, "failed to yield" at a stop sign and collided with the pickup as it headed east on Hwy. 55, a statement from the patrol read. The woman was dead at the scene.

All four people in the two vehicles were wearing the proper restraint devices, the patrol said.
