When: May 1 to Oct. 31, 2015

Where: Milan, Italy

U.S. theme: American Food 2.0/ United to Feed the Planet. To demonstrate the U.S.'s food systems and innovations from farm to table and back to farm.

Who: 147 participating countries

Visitors: 20 to 30 million visitors expected; 1 billion virtual visitors

U.S. organizers: James Beard Foundation, International Culinary Center (campuses in New York, California and Italy), American Chamber of Commerce in Italy

Minnesota chair: Lenny Russo, chef/owner Heartland Restaurant and Farm Direct Market in St. Paul

Minnesota display: Aquaponic setup from Urban Organics, which will grow walleye and greens, using a water-pumping and filtration system from Pentair, of the Twin Cities.
