A 60-year-old construction worker was run over by a dump truck and killed outside Royalton High School in central Minnesota, authorities said.
The victim was identified Sunday by the Hennepin County medical examiner's office as Vernon Barthel, 60, of Rice, Minn.
The truck was backing up when it hit Barthel late Friday morning. He died shortly after 1 p.m. that day at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, the medical examiner's office said.
The dump truck was being driven by 57-year-old Rodney Stanoch of Motley, Minn., said Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen.
The truck was registered to Joe's Excavating out of Sartell, Minn., the sheriff added.
