Word of the week: Yampy

We're getting yamped up.

December 26, 2017 at 5:54PM

Definition: Daft; a bit soft in the noggin.

Sample usage: "Hearing that Paul McCartney Christmas song thrice daily for a month made him quite yampy, but he'll be all right now. As long as there's no 'Simply Having a Wonderful New Year's Eve.' "

Popularity: It's a bit of British Midlands slang, added to the Oxford English Dictionary a few months ago. You can call other people yampy, but you oughtn't say you're yamped.
