Word of the week: Bratsplain

January 24, 2017 at 9:42PM

Definition: To have something explained to you by someone younger (Merriam-Webster Online).

Sample usage: "It's bad enough trying to market my underwater welding company online, but I've got this kid bratsplaining to me why I have to add a Facebook link."

Popularity: Middle-aged people will love the word, and younger people will hate it — until they have someone 10 years old look at the way they're playing a video game and say, "You're doing it wrong."

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020.
