A 67-year-old woman who spent the night in her partly submerged car in a Plymouth pond remained in critical condition at Hennepin County Medical Center Sunday night.

Nancy Breberg was rescued Saturday afternoon after a man riding a bike saw her car in the pond. Her husband had reported her missing Friday night to the Centennial Lakes Police Department in Centerville, where the couple lives.

Her car apparently had crossed three lanes of traffic, gone over a boulevard and crashed through a chain-link fence before ending up in the pond near 10th Avenue and Revere Lane, where she was spotted by the passing bicyclist shortly after 12:30 p.m. Saturday, more than 17 hours after she crashed.

Plymouth police and fire and the Hennepin County sheriff's water patrol responded and the woman was retrieved from the car in the pond, which had been obscured from passing vehicles and nearby houses by brush, said Plymouth police.

Breberg was talking to paramedics and officers after being removed from the car. It's unclear what injuries she suffered.
