Woman reported robbed, assaulted on Lake Street

Two men are suspected of robbing a 20-year-old woman as she walked along Lake Street, then sexually assaulting her, police said Friday.

The woman told police she was walking on E. Lake near 13th Avenue S. in Minneapolis about 1 a.m. Thursday, when the men threatened her with a gun, stole her wallet and sexually assault her behind a nearby multiunit residence.

One suspect is described as black, 20 to 30 years old, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with a "noticeable belly," wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark bluejeans. The other is described as black, 30 to 40 years old and 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a slight build, wearing a purple hat, purple hooded sweatshirt, a shiny black vest and bluejeans.
