Woman killed in multivehicle crash in southeast Minneapolis

July 12, 2017 at 10:32PM

A woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in what Minneapolis police are calling a "multivehicle personal injury crash" at University and Central avenues SE.

Officers went to the scene just before 1:30 p.m.; rescue workers from the Fire Department already were trying to revive the woman with CPR. She was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she died a short time later.

Police did not say if she was wearing a seat belt or if she was alone in the vehicle. No one else was injured. The woman's name and exact cause of death will be released by the medical examiner's office.

The Police Department's traffic unit is investigating the crash. More details may be released later, a spokesman said.
