One day before they begin summer-league play in Las Vegas, the Wolves today signed newly drafted point guard Kris Dunn to a rookie contract.

The Wolves selected Dunn fifth overall in last month's draft and signed a rookie deal that will pay him almost $3.9 million this coming season.

Given all the money thrown about this last week during the NBA's frenzied free-agency period, rookie-scale contracts are the last remaining bargain in the league.

Dunn began practicing with the summer-league team when it convened on Tuesday. The Wolves team flew to Las Vegas today and will begin play tomorrow against Denver at 7:30 p.m. The game will be television from the Thomas & Mack Center on ESPN.
