As expected, the Wolves this afternoon exercised rookie contract options for the 2016-17 season on Andrew Wiggins, Zach LaVine, Shabazz Muhammad, Gorgui Dieng and Adreian Payne.
If the Wolves hadn't done so by next week, any or all of those five would become free agents after this season.
Wiggins will earn $6 million in 2016-17, Muhammad a little more than $3 million, Dieng $2.3 million, LaVine $2.2 million and Payne a little more than $2 million.
The Wolves practiced this afternoon at their Mayo Clinic Square facility and will do so again tomorrow before they finish their preseason schedule Friday against Milwaukee at Target Center.
