Preview: The Timberwolves beat Dallas 101-92 at Target Center on Monday night. That ended the Wolves' seven-game losing streak to the Mavericks and started their current three-game winning streak. The Mavs have played just once since then because they flew to Mexico City and beat Phoenix there 113-108 on Thursday. After Sunday, they play games at Chicago and Miami. … Before Thursday's game, the Mavs had lost three in a row and six of eight to fall into last place in the Western Conference. … The original 3 p.m. tip was moved even two hours earlier so the game doesn't conflict with Cowboys-Packers playoff game that kicks off at 3:40 p.m.

Players to watch: Wolves PG Ricky Rubio's 46 assists in victories over Dallas, Houston and Oklahoma City are the most by a Wolves player in a three-game stretch. Pooh Richardson had 44 over three games in April 1992 and Terrell Brandon had 43 in April 1999. Before this past week, Rubio had 40 assists in three games three times in his career. … Mavs PG Deron Williams had 23 points and 12 assists vs. the Suns for his second double-double this season. He has scored 20 points or more in six of his past 12 games. His team is 3-1 when he reaches 10 assists. He is averaging 15.4 points and 7.7 assists since Dec. 1.

Injuries: Wolves SG Zach LaVine is listed as questionable for the Wolves. Mavericks C Andrew Bogut (strained hamstring) is listed as out.
