The Timberwolves have added another big man, just in time for their season finale.

Greg Stiemsma, a Wisconsin alum who spent last season with Sioux Falls in the D League, has been signed, the Timberwolves announced Tuesday, "for the remainder of the 2009-2010 season," which amounts to roughly 32 more hours. But don't worry -- the 6-foot-11 center is also under contract for next season, too.

Stiemsma averaged 2.7 points and 2.3 rebounds for the Badgers, but raised those numbers to 8.8 points and 7.1 rebounds, plus a D League-best 3.6 blocks, with the Sioux Fall Skyforce. The 24-year-old was a teammate at Wisconsin for three seasons with guard Alando Tucker, who played four games with the Wolves earlier this season.

Minnesota, which needs one more victory to avoid tying the franchise-worst record of 15-67, closes its season Wednesday night in Target Center against the Detroit Pistons.

Randle was a strong candidate to play in the All-Star Game on Sunday, but was not chosen and will head to the beach instead.
