draft at a glance

When: 7 p.m. Monday • Where: Bristol, Conn. • TV: ESPN2

Lynx draft picks: First round, No. 12 overall; second round: No. 14 (from Phoenix) and No. 24; third round: No. 36.

THE BIG THREE

A look at the three players who figure to be taken at the top of the draft:

• Baylor center Brittney Griner: The 6-8 Griner finished her college career ranked No. 1 in women's NCAA Division I history in blocks (748) and dunks (18). She was second in career scoring (3,283 points) and scored in double figures in 146 of 148 games.

Delaware guard/forward Elena Delle Donne: Delle Donne led the nation in scoring as a junior (28.1 points per game) and was second as a senior (25.8). She also averaged better than eight rebounds per game.

Notre Dame guard Skylar Diggins: A four-time All-America and two-time Big East Conference player of the year, Diggins led Notre Dame to three consecutive Final Fours and finished her career No. 1 in program history in points and steals.

LOCAL CONNECTION

Ohio State guard Tayler Hill — a former Minneapolis South star — was a two-time all-Big Ten first team pick and was named to the conference's all-defensive team three times. A four-year starter, she averaged 21.1 points per game as a senior.

She doesn’t have the star power of Napheesa Collier or the ferociousness of Courtney Williams, but McBride is just as valuable to the first-place Lynx.
