Wis. motorcyclist killed in I-90 crash in Faribault County

June 18, 2014 at 12:11AM

A Wisconsin motorcyclist crashed in south-central Minnesota and died, the latest in a string of deaths among riders since late last month.

James B. Verville, 30, of Fort Atkinson, Wis., was riding east on Interstate 90 in Faribault County when he veered into the median late Sunday afternoon and lost control, the State Patrol said.

Verville was taken to a hospital in Rochester and died there, the patrol added. He was not wearing a helmet.

This is the 15th death among motorcycle riders in the state this year, compared with 12 at this time in 2013, the state Department of Public Safety said.

Eleven of those killed this year were not wearing helmets, and seven motorcycle fatalities have occurred since May 29, the agency added.
