KENOSHA, Wis. — The congregation at First Congregational Church has dissolved, but its historic building in downtown Kenosha won't go uninhabited.
Christ the King Church's congregation is moving in.
The Kenosha News reports (http://bit.ly/164g1I3 ) a closing service Sunday afternoon was meant to celebrate 175 years of service.
It drew about 160 people. That included the 15 or so regular members of the First Congregational Church, along with former parishioners and visitors and the members of Christ the King Church.
The building will now be called Christ the King Church, which is a satellite of CrossWay Community Church in Bristol. The group had been having Wednesday night services in the church since July.
Mike Salvati, lead pastor at Christ the King, says they have about 140 parishioners.
