Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield has been asked to join the NFC Pro Bowl roster, according to agent Ashanti Webb.

Winfield, who was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2008 and 2009 but did not go last season because of a foot injury, will accept the invitation and participate in the game next Sunday at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu.

Winfield will either serve as a replacement for cornerbacks Charles Woodson or Tramon Williams of the Packers. Green Bay advanced to the Super Bowl on Sunday with a victory over Chicago in the NFC title game, meaning Woodson and Williams won't be able to participate in the all-star game.

Williams was named to the NFC roster last week as an injury replacement for Philadelphia's Asante Samuel.

Winfield's inclusion means the Vikings will have at least two players in the game. Running back Adrian Peterson was voted into the game. Defensive tackle Kevin Williams was picked as an injury replacement but has decided not to go because he and his wife, Tasha, are expecting a child.

Winfield finished with 91 tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles and two interceptions.

Update: As of late Sunday, Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway has not been added to the Pro Bowl roster. The Packers had six players who will need to be replaced on the NFC squad. This includes outside linebacker Clay Matthews. Greenway was a Pro Bowl alternate for the NFC.
