Wine

We are smack dab in the heart of rosé season — although some of us consider that to be any month with at least 28 days — and my favorite discovery so far is the 2013 Penya Côtes Catalanes Rosé ($10). With ripe red berry/cherry aromas and flavors, this pink beauty packs a good bit of punch for its weight class, and the finish is juicy and refreshing. Try this blend of grenache, grenache gris and syrah with grilled salmon, Greek salads (or most any salad with cheese) or at a Friday-night fish fry.

Available at 1st Grand, Sorella, CrossRoads (Victoria), Solo Vino, Excelsior Vintage, Apple Valley and Richfield munis and others).
