WINE

I'll admit to having a weakness for lesser-known white grapes, especially if they produce tangy, tasty wines. And aligote, the (way) second white grape of Burgundy, certainly qualifies. Jed Steele's Shooting Star Washington State Aligote 2010 ($15) is bracing to start and smooth on the finish, with citrus and apple flavors and lively texture. Try this crisp gem with grilled seafood, creamy pasta dishes or sushi. Available at Perrier (Bloomington), Lake Wine and Cheese, Excelsior Vintage, the Little Wine Shoppe and others.
