I didn't expect Rainbow to win the race to the lowest price on Halloween candy, but the supermarket trounced even Target and Wal-Mart with its price on Snickers. get an 11 ounce bag of Snickers for only $1.78. Wal-Mart's advertised price is $2.50, Target $2.49.
Rainbow limits you to two bags, but if you have the ad from Sunday's paper, you can ask Wal-Mart or Target to price match. One caveat, sometimes Target will not match an ad with a limited quantity requirement.
One reader told me that occasionally Aldi discounts its candy prices the week of Halloween so it's gone by Nov. 1, but as of yesterday (Oct. 26) the candy wasn't discounted further.
